Cockington Green Gardens
Cockington Green Gardens is a family-owned and operated miniature village and garden attraction at Gold Creek Village in Nicholls, Canberra. Founders Doug and Brenda Sarah opened it to the public in November 1979 after a family holiday in England inspired them to build a miniature village of their own, and the business says four generations of the family have been involved since. The original display recreates scenes of Great Britain in handcrafted miniature set among manicured gardens, and an International Display added from the late 1990s features buildings representing 30 countries, according to the park. Visitors can ride the miniature steam train that circles the international area, see the 34-room Waverley dolls house and a private Royal Winton china collection in the Rose Room, and use the licensed garden cafe, gift shops, free barbecues, picnic area and playground. The park is open seven days a week except Christmas Day and Boxing Day, and the display may close in extreme weather. Check current opening times, admission prices and train running times on the official website before visiting.
