Plumtree Kennels & Cattery

Plumtree Kennels & Cattery is a dog and cat boarding business on a rural property a few minutes from Ararat in western Victoria, and describes itself as family owned and operated. The business describes pet boarding in the Ararat region since 1993 and says the Impey family has run the kennels and cattery for the past eight years, with Lisa Impey describing a long background as a dog trainer and behaviour consultant. Dogs stay in individual indoor or standard kennels, some with attached outdoor runs, are exercised separately twice a day inside a perimeter security fence, and dogs from the same household can share a pen by arrangement. The cattery has a wood heater for colder weather, air conditioning in summer and a shared play area that cats can use during the day. Day stays, long-term boarding, a hydrobath wash and blow dry, clipping and the giving of labelled medication are offered, and owners can bring their pet's own food and bedding. Dogs need a current C5 vaccination and cats an F3 vaccination, with certificates shown on arrival, and all animals must be at least four months old and up to date with worming. The kennels welcome inspections during business hours and serve pet owners from Ararat, Stawell, Halls Gap and the Grampians, Beaufort and surrounding districts, including travellers passing through western Victoria.
